CHAPTER 386.

AN ACT to prevent Swine from running at large
in the First Election District of Cecil County.
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for any
person to allow swine to run at large in the First
Election District of Cecil County.
|

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That any person may
impound any swine found going at large within
the limits of the said district, and the owner of
such swine, on reclaiming the same, shall pay to
the person so impounding at the rate of fifty cents
per head, for every twenty-four hours such swine
may have been impounded; and any swine so im-

pounded shall be advertised by notice in writing,
set up at two of the most public places in said dis-
trict.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That if any swine shall
remain so impounded for five days, after notice
given as aforesaid, the party so impounding may
sell the same at public sale, after five days notice,
given as provided in the preceding section, for the
payment of cost and expenses, including the said
fifty cents per day.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That all disputes
arising between the owner of such swine and the
person impounding the same, shall be determined
by a Justice of the Peace for said county, who may
summon witnesses and decide the matter in con-
troversy.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
