ing.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That out of the tax
hereby directed to be levied upon the owner or
owners of dogs in said county, as hereinbefore pro-
vided, the sum of two dollars be paid by the County
Commissioners as a compensation to any person
who may kill or destroy as hereinbefore provided
any fox or foxes in said county, and the surplus
or residue of said tax, if any shall constitute a
general county fund in the hands of the County
Commissioners for said county, for the repair of
the public roads thereof.

Sec. 6 And be it enacted, That before the killer
or destroyer of any fox in said county, shall be en-
titled to the compensation of two dollars as afore-
said, he shall present both the bush and scalp of
the fox so killed or destroyed to the Commission-
ers Court of said county, and make oath, in their
presence, that the same was killed or destroyed by
him in said county.

AN ACT a Supplement to an Act entitled "An
Act for founding a College at Chestertown."
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, by resolution number thirty-one,
passed February seventeenth, eighteen hundred
and forty-eight, and by the Act passed March the
tenth, eighteen hundred and forty-six, certain
sums of money were authorized to be paid a,nnu-
ally to the Visitors and Governors of Washington
College, as compensation for the boarding of one
student from each of the then existing eight coun-
ties on the Eastern Shore, making in the aggre-
gate, with the amount paid to said Visitors and
Governors, under laws existing prior to eighteen
hundred and forty-eight, the yearly sum of three
thousand dollars, being three hundred and seventy-
five dollars for each of said students; and whereas,
in the year eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, the
county of Wicomico was erected and organized out
of portions of Somerset and Worcester Counties, in
