greater or less amount, as may be decided by the
stockholders.

Sec. 222. Notice of such meeting of stockholders
shall be given in the manner required by Section
seventy-one, of said Article twenty-six of the Code
of Public General Laws ; and the proceedings
thereafter shall be similar to those prescribed in
Sections seventy-two and seventy-three of said Ar-
ticle twenty-six of the Code of Public General
Laws.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal an Act passed at the January
Session of eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, en-
titled, "Public Education," providing for a
general system of Free Public Schools for the
State of Maryland, and to repeal all laws incon-
sistent therewith, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Act passed at the session,
of eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, entitled,
"Public Education," providing a general system
of Free Public Schools for the State of Maryland,
and to tepeal all laws inconsistent therewith, be
and the same is hereby repealed, and re-enacted so
as to read as follows :

re-enacted.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That there shall be
throughout the State of Maryland a general sys-
tem of Free Public Schools, according to the pro-
visions of this Act.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
be added to the Code of Public General Laws,
under the title, "Public Education," and that all
existing laws inconsistent herewith be and the
same are hereby repealed.
