Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That in accordance
with the provisions of Article three, Section fifty-
four of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act

 

shall be published for two months next before the
next election for members of the House of Dele-
gates in the newspapers published in said county,
and shall also be approved by a majority of all the
members elected to each House of the General As-
sembly at its next session after said election.

CHAPTER 286.

 

AN ACT to incorporate the Berlin Bridge Com-
pany of Frederick County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Charles F. Wermer, Henry T.
Deaver, John W. Hillery, Gideon Householder,
Samuel W. George, Sr.. and A. S. M. Filler, be
and they are hereby appointed Commissioners for
the purposes hereinafter mentioned, and they may,
after thirty days' notice in any newspaper pub-

 

lished in Frederick County, open a book or hooks
at such points as may be designated in said adver-
tisement, for the purpose of receiving subscrip-
tions for the construction of a bridge across the
Potomac River, at or near Berlin, in said county,
to an amount not exceeding forty thousand dol-
lars, in shares of one hundred dollars each, and
the said book or books may be kept open for such
time as may be necessary for the purpose of re-
ceiving such subscription.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That every person,
at the time of subscribing, shall pay to the Com-
missioners the sum of two dollars on each share of
stock so subscribed for.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That as soon as one
hundred shares of stock shall be subscribed, the
said Commissioners shall call a meeting of the
stockholders, who shall proceed by ballot to elect
five Directors, who shall continue in office one
year, and until a new election for Directors shall
