by the said Court at its next session or term, if no
sufficient cause to the contrary be shown, and when
confirmed shall be recorded by said Clerk,, at the
expense of the said Company ; but if the same be
set aside, the said Court shall direct that another
inquisition shall be taken in the manner above de-
scribed ; and the inquisition shall in all cases de-
scribe the property taken, or the bounds of the
lands condemned, and the quantity or duration of
the interest in the same, valued for the Company,

and such valuation, when paid or tendered to the
owner or owners of the land, or their property, his,
her or their legal representatives, shall entitle the
said Company to the estate and interest in the
same, thus valued, as fully as if it had been legally
conveyed to said Company by the owner or owners
of the same ; and upon said valuation being ten-
dered as aforesaid, said Company may enter upon
and take full possession of said land or other pro-
perty so condemned, for all corporate purposes ;
and if said valuation is not received when ten-
dered, it may at any time thereafter be received,
without costs, from said Company, by the said
owner or owners, or his, her or their representa-
tives ; and the said Sheriff shall keep any jury,
which he shall empanel under the provisions of
this section, together for a reasonable time, until
they shall agree upon and sign and seal said in-

quisition ; and in case it shall so happen that the
jury cannot agree, after being kept together as
aforesaid, the Sheriff may, in his discretion, dis-
charge said jury, and, without any further warrant
from a Justice of the Peace, shall, within ten days
thereafter, summon another jury of twenty disin-
terested persons as aforesaid, and the same pro-
ceedings shall be had in all respects as hereinbefore

provided; and in case of a second or other disagree-
ments of the jury, the same proceedings shall be
had, until an inquisition shall be made and re-
turned as aforesaid.

Sec. 15. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
pany may construct, use and maintain any branch
road or roads which will facilitate their business
or accommodate the public ; provided, said branch
road or roads do not extend more than twelve miles
in length from their main stem.
