Street Com-
missioners.

pointed immediately after the passage of this Act, to
hold their office during the term of one year and to be
appointed annually thereafter, and the said Street
Commissioners shall reside in Baltimore County,
and they shall cause to be surveyed and laid off by
a competent Surveyor and such other assistants as
may be necessary on such terms as may be agreed
upon by the County Commissioners, all that part
of Baltimore County adjoining the line of the City
of Baltimore not exceeding the distance of two
miles from said City line, and not less than one
mile, in the discretion of said Street Commission-
ers, and the said Street Commissioners shall lay
out upon, the whole ground contained within the

or alleys as they shall deem proper and conve-
nient, the said streets, avenues or alleys to be laid
off in conformity with the streets of Baltimore City
so i'ar as practicable, and cause the same and the
limits aforesaid to be marked with so many and
such durable landmarks as they shall think neces-
sary, and return plats of said survey and location
with proper explanations to the County Commis-
sioners of Baltimore County, within thirty days

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said County
Commissioners shall cause notice to be published
in each of the newspapers published in Baltimore
County, and in one of the papers published in Bal-
timore City, once a week for three successive weeks,
that said plat and proceedings had been returned
lo the office of said County Commissioners, and
that unless objections are filed on or before a day
to be named by said Commissioners in said adver-
tisement, not exceeding thirty days from the return
made by said Street Commissioners, that the same
will be ratified and confirmed; but if objections are

and directed to hear and determine said objections,
and to amend, alter or change the location of such
streets, alleys, avenues and squares, or any part of
such streets, avenues, alleys or squares as in their
