enactment of a law authorizing the removal of obstructions-
to navigation and the erection of a bridge at the Narrows, at
Kent Island, Queen Anne's county.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.

Mr. Gordy presented the petition of Dr. G. W. Freery,
Ritchie Fooks and 185 citizens of Wicomico county, protest-
ing against the levy by the County Commissioners of said
county, of a sum to erect public buildings in said county.

Which was read and referred to the Wicomico delegation
and Mr. Brattan, of Somerset county.

Mr. Colton presented the petition of A. C. N. Matthews,
asking for compensation for services rendered the State of
Maryland.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.
Mr. Cameron submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Samuel Robinson, Doorkeeper of this House,
be excused, on next Tuesday and Wednesday, from service.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Owens submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Mr. Richards have leave of absence until
Wednesday next.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Jordan submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Wm. H. Grouse have leave of absence until
Thursday next.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Brown submitted the following order:

Ordered, That Mr. Thomas, of Queen Anne's, have leave
of absence until Thursday next.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Morse submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Committee on Corporations have leave
of absence for Tuesday next.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Ehlen submitted the following order :

Ordered, That when this House adjourns it stands ad-
journed until Tuesday next, at 11 o'clock, A. M.
