On motion by Mr. Stephenson,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointments, agreeably to the nominations of the 18th of Feb-
ruary, instant.

On motion by Mr. Grove,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the appoint-
ments for Washington county,

And on his motion

The Senate advised and consented to said appointments,
agreeably to the nominations of the 25th of January,
ultimo.

On motion by Mr. Snyder.
The Senate resumed the consideration of Legislative busi-

ness.

MONDAY, February 23d, 1870.

The following communications which had been received
from His Excellency, Governor Bowie, by the hands of Rich-
ard O. Hollyday, Esq., Secretary of State, were read :
