THURSDAY, January 14,1870.

The following communications, which had been received
from His Excellency, Governor Bowie, by the hands of Rich-
ard C. Hollyday, Esq., Secretary of State, were read :

Annapolis, January 14,1870.
Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland:

I herewith transmit to you the Executive appointments
made by me during the recess of the Senate, for Baltimore
city.

Feb'y 19, 1869.—Louis Leprieux, Auctioneer, vice G. B.
Dorsey, resigned.

Feb'y 19, 1869.—John L. Gantt, Auctioneer vice John D.
Hardy, whose license expired said not re-
newed,

April 12, 1869.—Louis Keller, Auctioneer, vice M. Fitzpat-
rick, whose license expired and not re-
newed.

May 14, 1869. —Lewis & Clark, Auctioneers, whose license

expired, April 10,1868.

May 14, 1869. -—Patrick H. Sullivan, Auctioneer, vice L.
D. Dietz, whose license expired and not
renewed.

July 8, 1869. —H. Tillard Smith, Notary Public, vice Jos.
T. Atkinson, resigned.

Sept'r 22, 1869.—A. P. Burt, Director of the Penitentiary,
vice Joshua Vansant.

Nov'r 22, 1869.—O. A. Kirkland, Auctioneer, vice B. Weil,

who did not renew his license.

Nov'r 22, 1869.—F. W. Mulhofer, Auctioneer, vice Louis

Leprieux, removed from State.

ODEN BOWIE.
On motion by Mr. Grove,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointments, agreeably to the nominations.
