On motion by Mr. Earle, it was Ordered, That the Secretary of the Senate return to the
Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company the papers belonging
to said Company, and at this time in the possession of the
Senate. On motion by Mr. Carroll, it was Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
be instructed to divide between Rev. Mr. Hildt, Rev. Mr.
Southgate, Rev. Father Duffy, Rev. L. C. Miller, Rev. Mr.
Henderson, the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars in equal
proportions, and also to pay to each one of the above named
ministers the sum of twenty-five dollars each, in lieu of sta-
tionery. The Clerk of the House of Delegates, delivered the follow-
ing message:

Gentlemen of the Senate: We have received your message requesting the return of
the bill entitled an Act in relation to State Banking Institu-
tions, and respectfully decline to comply therewith; the
amendments having been adopted by this House, and the
bill passed.

Which was read. The House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 810, of
Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, of the City of
Baltimore, chapter 367, relating to Police, and re-enact the
same with amendments, so as to read as follows, Being upon the third reading,
Mr. Snyder submitted the following amendment : AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Amend section 810, by striking out the word " thirty,"
at the end of line 35, and insert in lieu thereof the word:
twenty.
