follows:

Henkle, Timmons,
Henry, Welch,
Hyland, Wilson—20.

NEGATIVE—None.

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing message:
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES.

April 1st, 1870.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message asking the return to your
Honorable Body of the bill, known as the "School Law,"
and respectfully concur therein, and herewith retarn the
same.

Which was read.

On motion by Mr. Clarke,

The vote was reconsidered by which said bill was passed.
Mr. Wilson submitted the following amendments :

Chapter V., section 3, line 3, strike out "district" and in-
sert county.

Chapter VI., section 1, strike out all after the word "duty,"
in the first line, to the word "the," in the second line.

Chapter VI., section 3, line 2, strike out "district" and
insert county.

Chapter XVIII, section 1. It shall be the duty of the
Board of County School Commissioners, when any election dis-
trict or any contiguous election districts, shall present a build-
ing for a high school in said district or districts, to the Board
of County School Commissioners, to accept the same, (if in
the judgement of the Board there is any necessity therefor,)
