Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

The House bill entitled an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Kent county, to open and enlarge the pub-
lic road in said county passing through the village, known
as Massey's Cross Roads, in said county,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays, as
follows:
AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Kimmel,
Biggs, Malone,
Browne, Sellman,
Carroll, Snyder,
Clarke, Spates,
Earle, Timmons,
Henry, Welch,
Hyland, Wilson—16.

NEGATIVE—None.

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.
On motion by Mr. Clarke,

Leave was granted to the Senators from Baltimore, Anne-
Arundel and Frederick counties, to introduce a bill to tax
dogs, and thereby protect sheep in Baltimore county.

On motion by Mr. Clarke,
The Senate adjourned.

WEDNESDAY, March 23,1870.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Southgate.
Present at roll call the following Senators :
