troduce a bill, to be entitled an Act to appropriate a certain
sum of money out of the Academic Fund of Carroll county,.
to the Western Maryland College and Manchester Academy
in said county. Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom the leave was granted, reported a bill entitled an
Act to add an additional section to Article 16, of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Chancery," sub-title "Trustee,"
to follow section 139, of said Article. Which was read the first time. Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act to require certain contracts for
the purchase or sale of real estate, or leasehold, estate, or any
interest therein, or for the procurement of money or other
valuable security upon mortgage, to be in writing, reported
it without amendment. Said bill was then read the second time.
Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act to change the jurisdiction of the
Supreme Bench of Baltimore city, and reapportion and en-
large the jurisdiction of the Baltimore city, Superior and Court
of Common Pleas of Baltimore city, as provided by section
39 of Article 4, of the Constitution, reported it without
amendment.
Said bill was then read the second time. Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 345 and 346 of
chapter 11 of the Public Local Laws of Frederick county,
sub-title "Woodboro, "and re-enact the same with amend-
ments, reported it with the following amendment : Add at the end of section 345, the following words : "Pro-
vided, That nothing herein contained shall be construed to
deprive any person convicted before a Justice of the Peace
under the provisions of this section, of the right of appeal to
the Circuit Court of Frederick county." Which was read and adopted.
The section as amended was then read and adopted.
Said bill was then read the second time. Also, from the same Committee, to whom the leave was
granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to add an additional
section to Article 38, of the Code of Public General Laws en-
titled "Fees of Officers"
Which was read the first time.
