Said bill was then sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Purnell,

The vote by which the bill entitled an Act to amend an
Act, passed March 18th, 1867, entitled an Act to revive and
extend an Act to incorporate the Worcester Rail Road Com-
pany, passed at the January session, 1853, with amend-
ments, was ordered to be made the order of the day for Mon-
day next, was reconsidered.

The bill being then upon a second reading,

The question recurring upon the amendment proposed by
Mr. Bowlus,

Mr. Bowlus, by unanimous consent, withdrew his amend-
ment.

Mr. German moved that the bill be referred to the Com-
mittee on Ways and Means.

Decided in the negative.

Mr. Purnell submitted the following amendment:

After the word "aforesaid," in the seventh line of the
third section, insert: and having first paid or tendered to the
owner or owners of said property, or to the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court for Worcester county, as directed in the second
section of this Act, the amount of damages assessed to said
owner or owners.

Which was adopted.

The bill, as amended, was then read a second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
