Was reconsidered.

The question then recurred upon the adoption of the
amendment, and it was determined in the negative.

Said bill was then read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays, as follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Biggs, Miller,
Browne, Parker,
Carroll, Snyder,
Clarke, Spates,
Earle, Stephenson,
Fields, Timmons,
Hyland, Welch,
Maddox, Wilson—18.

NEGATIVE—None.
Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Timmons, from the Select Committee to whom the
leave was granted, reported

A bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed by the Gen-
eral Assembly of 1868, chap. 238, entitled "Licenses," so as
to empower traders to sell licenses with the stock of goods.

Which was read the first time.
On motion by Mr. Timmons,

Said bill was referred to the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings.

The President announced a communication from his Ex-
cellency, Governor Bowie, by the bands of R. C. Holly-
day, Esq., Secretary of State.

Mr. Henkle, from the Select Committee to whom the leave
was granted, reported

A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
provide a suitable portrait of the late Governor Thomas G.
Pratt, to be placed in the Executive Chamber.

Which was read the first time.
On motion by Mr. Clarke,

The regular order of lousiness was suspended in order to
give the Senate bill entitled an Act to create an additional
Justice of the Peace for the 11th district of Baltimore county
its third reading.

Said bill was then read the third time and passed by yeas.
