President of the Senate : DEAR SIR:—In compliance with the following order passed
the Senate on the 4th inst., to wit : "Ordered, That the Comptroller report to the Senate the
amount paid each newspaper is the State, for the publication
of the General Laws for the session of 1868, also, the total
amount paid tor said service," I beg leave to make the an-
nxed statement, which shows what papers were authorized
to publish the General Laws of 1868, the amount received
