NEGATIVE—None.

Mr. Wiley, Chairman (on the part of the House) of the
Joint Committee on Printing, submitted the following

REPORT.

To the House of Delegates :

I am instructed by the Joint Committee on Printing to re-
port to the General Assembly that the total printing, also
the binding and German translation, has been done to this
time, and will be completed for the gross sum of $42,250,
which is $10,870 less than the same work of a similar charac-
ter cost, for the session of 1868. When ft is recollected that
there has been a much.larger number of bills and special re-
ports printed during' the present session than at the last
session, the Committee hope the General Assembly will be
satisfied with its efforts to reduce and economize in this
branch of expenditures of the public service.

Which was read and rejected.
On motion of Mr. McLane,

The vote by which said report was rejected was reconsid-
ered.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the re-
port, it was rejected.

The Secretary ,of the Senate returned the bill entitled an
Act to add additional sections to article 69, of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled ''Officers," regulating'and
prescribing "the number and compensation of officers of the
Senate and House of Delegates, and repealing Acts incon-
sistent therewith,

Endorsed, "Pased by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ments:"

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

And that the clerical force of the Senate shall be under
the supervision and control of the Secretary of the Senate,
who shall assign to them their respective duties and enforce
the proper performance of the same, and in case of the ne-
