Mr. Cooper, (the rules being suspended,) presented the pe-
tition of Eliza A. White, Lavinia C. Dundorr, Ellen M.
Harris, and 150 other ladies, praying for the right of suffrage
and political justice.

Which was read.

Mr. Blake moved that the petition be referred to the Com-
mittee on Federal Relations.

Decided in the negative.

Mr. Baldwin, of Anne Arundel, moved that the petition
be referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

Pending the consideration whereof,
On motion of Mr. Cooper,

The petition was referred to Messrs. Cooper, Brattan and
Loker.

Mr. Webb, acting Chairman of the Committee on Claims,
reported favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act for the relief of J. B. Ma-
gruder, late Inspector of Tobacco Warehouse No. 1, and of
persons employed under him in said warehouse.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Webb moved that the bill be read a third time this
day, under the provisions of the Constitution, section 27, Ar-
ticle 3.
