Mr. Merrick moved that the rules be suspended, and that
the House proceed to the consideration of the bill entitled an
Act to authorize the transfer of the stock held by the State
in the Chesapeake and Ohio Carnal Company, to the Trustees
of the bondholders of said Company.

The House proceeded to the consideration of the unfinished
business of yesterday's evening session, being the bill enti-
tled an Act to repeal an Act, passed January session, 1868,
chapter 300, entitled an Act to organize and regulate the
Department of Labor and Agriculture, pursuant to the 10th
Article of the Constitution, and to re-enact the same, and to
continue said, department for four years from the expiratioa
of the term of office of the present Superintendent.
Said bill being upon a second reading,
The bill, as amended, was then read a secoud time.
