The bill entitled an Act to provide for the appointment of
an inspector and weigher of baled hay, straw and husks, for
the City of Baltimore,

Being upon a second reading.

Mr. submitted the following amendment:

Section 3, line 2, strike out "at their place of," and insert:
before. After "as," in same line, insert: heerein. In same
line strike out "in this Article." Line 4, strike out "thereof,"
and insert: strips of wood.

Which were severally read, and

On motion of Mr. Gorman,

The enacting clause of the bill was stricken out.

The bill entitled an Act to enable Peter Leatherman and
George Leatherman to sell a certain piece of property belong-
ing to the Tunkers Church, near Wolfsville, in Frederick
county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to legalize a supplement to the
Maryland Code, containing the Acts of the General Assembly
passed at the sessions of 1861, 1861, 1862, 1864, 1865, 1866
and 1867, arranged in Articles and sections to correspond
with the Code, by Lewis Mayer, and to appropriate a sum of
money to purchase copies of the same and to regulate their
distribution.

Being upon a second reading.

Mr. Bowlus submitted the following amendment:

Section 2. line 2, strike qut the word "two," and insert
the word: one.

Which was rejected.

The bill was, then read a second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal, an Act passed January
session, 1868, chapter 300, entitled an Act to organise and
regulate the Department of Labor,and Agriculture, pursuant
to the 10th Article of the Consitution, and to re-enact the
same; and to continue said Department for four years from the
expiration of the term of office or the present Superintendent,

Being upon second reading,

Mr. Gorman moved to strike out the enacting clause.
