Mr. Merrick, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means submitted the following majority

REPORT.

The Committee of Ways and Means, to whom have been
referred the resolutions adopted by the Senate entitled "Joint
Resolutions relative to the alleged indebtedness of the Balti-
more and Ohio Railroad Company to the State of Maryland,"
beg leave to report to the House of Delegates, that they have
given to those resolutions all that consideration which a pro-
per deference for the co-ordinate branch of the General As-
sembly must always command. They regret that they are
unable to advise this House to concur in those resolutions in
