licenses, and regulations on the creation of jobs and
income in the tourism industry. The Maryland
Tourism Development Board Fund may be used by
the Board to plan, advertise, and develop tourism
and travel industries in the State.
Fifteen members constitute the Board. Eleven are
appointed by the Governor with advice of the Secre-
tary of Business and Economic Development and
Senate advice and consent. Two are named by the
Senate President and two by the House Speaker.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON TOURISM

Created in 1993, the Committee advises the
Maryland Tourism Development Board on the
tourism industry (Chapter 625, Acts of 1993). The
Committee's forty members are appointed by the
Governor with advice of the Secretary of Business
and Economic Development and the Maryland
Tourism Development Board.

in 1995 (Chapter 120, Acts of 1995).

BUSINESS ASSISTANCE

Formerly under the Division of Business Resources,
Business Assistance was renamed the Office of Re-
gional Response in 1995 under the Division of
Regional Development.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT GROUP

In 1994, renamed National Business Development
and, in 1995, Office of Business Development.

BUSINESS LOCATION GROUP

In 1995, renamed Business Location Assistance.

BUSINESS RETENTION

Formerly in the Division of Business Resources,
Business Retention was disbanded in 1995.

DIVISION OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Renamed Division of Marketing in 1995.

DIVISION OF BUSINESS RESOURCES

Renamed Division of Regional Development in
1995.

Formerly under the Maryland International Divi-
sion, the Office was renamed International Trade
Development in 1995.

OFFICE OF FOREIGN INVESTMENT

The Office was renamed Office of Inward Invest-
ment in 1994.

OFFICE OF INWARD INVESTMENT

Formerly under the Maryland International Divi-
sion, the Office was reorganized in 1995 as the
Foreign Investment Group. Renamed Foreign In-
vestment in 1995, itwas placed under the Office of
International Trade.

OFFICE OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE

Renamed Office of International Business in 1996
(Chapter 321, Acts of 1996).

OFFICE OF MARKETING & OPERATIONS

Renamed Trade Promotion in 1995.

PRIVATE SECTOR ADVISORY COUNCIL

Abolished in 1995 (Chapter 120, Acts of 1995).

REGIONAL TECHNOLOGY COUNCILS

Formerly under the Office of Federal Response and
Technology Commercialization, the Councils no
longer receive State funds.

NETWORK

Renamed Small Business Development Centers in
1995.

TECHNOLOGY COMMERCIALIZATION

Formerly under the Division of Business Resources,
it was renamed Federal Response and Technology
Commercialization under the Division of Regional
