COASTAL RESOURCES DIVISION
Under the Tidewater Administration, the Division
was reorganized in 1992 as the Coastal and Water-
shed Resources Division.
ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT
Discontinued in 1992.
FLOOD PLAIN MANAGEMENT DIVISION
Formerly under the Water and Mineral Manage-
ment Program of the Water Resources Administra-
tion, the Division was combined in 1992 with the
Nontidal Wetlands Division to form the Nontidal
Wetlands and Waterways Division.
FOREST, PARK & WILDLIFE SERVICE
In 1992, functions of the Service were assigned to
two agencies: the State Forest and Park Service; and
the Fish, Heritage, and Wildlife Administration.
FORESTRY PROGRAMS
In 1993, renamed Forest Service.
HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITIES SITING
BOARD
Transferred to the Department of the Environment
in 1993 (Chapter 149, Acts of 1993).

NONTIDAL WETLANDS DIVISION
Under the Water and Wetlands Program of the
Water Resources Administration, the Division was
renamed Nontidal Wetlands and Waterways Divi-
sion in 1993.

SURFACE MINING DIVISION
Formerly under the Water and Wetlands Program
of the Water Resources Administraton, the Division
was reorganized in 1992 as the Minerals, Oil and
Gas Division and placed under the Bureau of Mines.
WATER & MINERAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
Under the Water Resources Administration, reorgan-
ized in 1993 as the Water and Wetlands Program.
WATERSHED & GROWTH MANAGEMENT
DIVISION
Under the Tidewater Administration, the Water-
shed and Growth Management Division was
formed by the Department in February 1991 to
help protect and restore healthy stream and river
ecosystems in every watershed of Maryland. The
Division's purpose was to plan for, assess, and man-
age the effects of population increase and land and
industrial development on the resources of the
State. The Division worked through five programs:
Targeted Watersheds; Citizen Involvement;
Growth Management; Watershed Impact Evalu-
ation; and Mapping and Data Analysis. In 1992,
the Division merged with the Coastal Resources
Division to form the Coastal and Watershed Re-
sources Division.
WATERSHED MANAGEMENT DIVISION
Formerly under the Water and Mineral Manage-
ment Program of the Water Resources Administra-
tion, the Division was renamed Flood Plain
Management Division in 1992.
WETLANDS & WATERWAYS PROGRAM
Formerly under the Water Resources Administra-
tion, the Program was restructured in 1993 with
divisions of the Program reorganized under the
Water and Wetlands Program.
WICOMICO-ZEKIAH RIVER LOCAL
ADVISORY BOARD
The Board completed its scenic river plan in March
1992.
