LAW COMMITTEE

In December 1992, this standing committee of the
House of Delegates was abolished by the House
Speaker.

DIVISION OF BUDGET REVIEW

Within the Department of Fiscal Services, the Divi-
sion of Budget Review was abolished in 1992 and
its functions taken over by the Fiscal Services Unit
(Chapter 598, Acts of 1992).

The Reapportionment and Redistricting Commit-
tee formed by the Senate President undertook its
duties in April 1991. With the Governor's Redis-
tricting Advisory Committee, the Committee held
joint hearings throughout Maryland in the summer

of 1991. In the fall, the Committee met to review
proposed plans and submitted a report to the Gov-
ernor's Committee in November 1991. After the
General Assembly adopted the Legislative Redis-
tricting Plan of 1992, the Committee's work con-
cluded in 1992.
