The Chesapeake Bay Communications Coor-
dinating Office was created by the Governor in
November 1988 to promote public education and
citizen involvement in the restoration of
Chesapeake Bay (Executive Order 01.01.1988.16).
The Office serves as the clearinghouse for all Bay
clean up information; publishes a newsletter,
Chesapeake; and organizes Bay-related events, such
as "Party on the Bay" and Maryland's Earth Day
celebration.

The Governor's Subcabinet for Children, Youth,
and Families was formed by the Governor in 1987
as the Subcabinet for Children and Youth. It
received its present name in 1990. The Subcabinet
coordinates all programs concerned with children
and youth.
