sec. 77).

The Friday before Easter through the Monday
after Easter.
Memorial Day.
Thanksgiving Day and the day after.
Christmas Eve through January I.
If federal and State observances of a holiday are
on different days, each county board of education
shall determine which date shall be observed for
public schools within the county (Chapter 481,
Acts of 1979; Code Education Article, sec. 7-103).

Frederick County Only
Repudiation Day: After twelve o'clock noon,
November 23, is a legal bank half-holiday (Chapter
510, Acts of 1894). The holiday commemorates the
date in 1765 when the Frederick County justices
reopened the county court in defiance of the Stamp
Act.
