The Commission meets regularly and recom-
mends to the Governor and the Legislature im-
provements in the law. The changes considered
by this Commission are discussed with represen-
tatives of labor, management, and the insurance
industry, resulting in a greater understanding be-
tween the various interests. Its recommendations
have been well accepted by the Legislaluic, as
well as the workingman and the employer.

The Board, created by Chapter 398, Acts of
1975, is composed of three members appointed
by the Governor with the advice and consent of
the Senate for four-year terms. One member rep-
resents labor, one member is from management,
and one member is selected from the public sec-
tor,
The Board supervises, operates, and adminis-
ters the Subsequent Injury Fund, the Uninsured
Employers' Fund, and other funds created from
time to time under this article, except the
State Accident Fund (Code 1957, Art. 101, sec.
69A).

AGENCIES
The following independent agencies completed
their assigned task or were abolished by law prior
to the convening of the 1981 session of the Gen-
eral Assembly.
PUBLIC DISCLOSURE ADVISORY
BOARD
This Board, formerly called the Financial Dis-
closure Advisory Board, was originally created by
Chapter 3, Acts of the Special Session of 1973, to
oversee the law requiring the public disclosure of
the personal finances of public officials in Mary-
land. By Chapter 938, Acts of 1977, the Board
was also given oversight of the law requiring lob-
byists to register and file activity reports. The
Board was abolished by Chapter 513, Acts of
1979, and its responsiblities were assumed by the
newly-created State Ethics Commission.
COMMISSION TO STUDY THE
PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION LAW

This Commission, established by Chapter 944,
Acts of 1977, was given the responsibility for un-
dertaking a thorough review of Article 78 to de-
termine if any changes in the law or procedures
and regulations of the Public Service Commission
were advisable. The Commission submitted its fi-
nal report in February 1980, and twelve bills its
members recommended were passed at the 1980
session of the General Assembly.
