CORNELL N. DYPSKI, Democrat, District 47; born in Baltimore,
September 23, 1931. Attended Baltimore City public schools; Uni-
versity of Baltimore. District Court employee. Member of various
civic and improvement groups. Married. Member of the Senate
since 1975.
MEYER M. EMANUEL. JR.. Democrat, District 22; born in Wash-
ington, D.C., April 4, 1919. Attended New York City public
schools; College of the City of New York, B.B.A., 1940. Certified
public accountant. Served with the U.S. Air Force during World
War II. Member, Prince George's County Fiscal Advisory Com-
mittee, 1959-61; Advisory Board to County Commissioners for
Metropolitan Improvement District, 1955-57. Chairman, Sub-
urban Advisory Board, American Automobile Association. Mem-
ber, American Institute of Certified Public Accounts; District of
Columbia Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Vice chair-
man, Advisory Committee, State National Bank, Bethesda.
Married. Member of the House of Delegates, 1963-67. Member
of the Senate since 1967.
CHARLES W. GILCHRIST, Democrat, District 17; born in Wash-
ington, D.C., November 12, 1936. Attended St. Albans School;

Admitted to the Maryland Bar, 1962. Served in the U.S. Army.
Treasurer, Montgomery County Democratic State Central Com-
mittee. Member, American, Maryland and District of Columbia

EDWARD T. HALL, Republican, District 30; born in Calvert
County, August 15, 1916. Attended Calvert County public
schools; Ottmar Mergenthaler School of Printing, Baltimore; spe-
cial courses at Strayer's Business College and Polytechnic. Owner
and editor of weekly newspaper, the Calvert Independent. Former
member. President's Committee and the Governor's Committee to
Promote the Employment of the Handicapped. Past member and
Chairman of the Board of Directors, Calvert County Memorial
Hospital; Calvert County Nursing Center. Active in volunteer fire
and rescue departments; Chamber of Commerce and Board of
Trade. Member, Calvert County Lions Club. Married. Member of
the Senate since 1959. Minority Leader 1963-74. Member of
Legislative Council since 1963.
