The Chief of Management Information
Systems is appointed by the Secretary. This
division has the responsibility for automatic
data processing planning and for manage-
ment control of State data processing re-
sources. The division manages and develops
State ADP resources according to a master
plan and implementation schedule, peri-
odically updated to deflect future informa-
tion requirements. The division also
exercises administrative authority over the |

The Governor originally appointed this
Council in 1969 to advise him on economic
matters. By an Executive Order during the
same year, he established the Council as a
permanent agency. The Council is to advise
the Governor on State fiscal economic prob-
lems and recommend solutions and policies.
By Executive Order, dated April 26, 1973,
the Council was assigned to the Department
of Budget and Fiscal Planning.
