472 MARYLAND MANUAL Executive makes the appointments for six-year terms subject to Council approval. In Queen Anne's County, the Board of County Commissioners appoints the members for four-year terms. In Cecil County, the Board of County Commissioners appoints the members for five-year terms. In Dorchester and Kent counties, the Boards of County Commissioners serve as the Board of License Commissioners ex oflficio. In Howard County, the County Council serves as the Board of License Commissioners ex officio. In Garrett and Harford counties, the Liquor Control Board serves as the Board of License Commis- sioners ex officio. In Prince George's County, the Governor appoints the members of the board for three-year staggered terms. In St. Mary's County, the board is known as the Alcoholic Beverage Board, and the members are appointed for two-year terms by the Governor with Senate confirmation. In Frederick County, the Governor ap- points the License Commissioner for a five-year term and the Alco- holic Beverages Inspector for a four-year term with the advice and consent of the Senate (Code 1957, 1968 Repl. Vol., 1972 Supp., Art. 2B, Sees. 148-163). Liquor Control Boards : Consists of three members appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate for two years except in Harford County where the term is three years. In Somerset County terms are for four years; in Worcester County for ten years and in Garrett County for six years; in Somerset County, the Board is appointed by the Governor alone. In Harford County, the Board is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. In Garrett County, appoint- ments are subject to confirmation by the House of Delegates. In Kent County, the Board of County Commissioners constitutes the Liquor Control Board, ex officio. In Montgomery County, the agency is known as the Department of Liquor Control and is appointed by the County Executive with the approval of the County Council (Code 1957, 1968 Repl. Vol., 1972 Supp., Art. 2B, Sec. 159). Extension Agents: Appointed by the State Board of Agriculture for indefinite terms (Code 1957, 1970 Repl. Vol., Art. 66C, Sees. 56-67). Soil Conservation District Supervisors: Consists of five members, of whom the county governing body ap- points one who serves at the pleasure of the governing body. The remaining four members are appointed by the State Soil Con- servation Committee from the residents of the District. One is ap- pointed from a list submitted by the Farm Bureau, and three are appointed from a list submitted by the County Extension Service. The terms of the four members appointed by the governing body of the county are for four years (Code 1957, 1970 Repl. Vol., 1972 Supp., Art. 66C, Sec. 93).
