The Maryland Savings-Share Insurance Corporation was created by
Chapter 131, Acts of 1962, to insure savings and loan and building
and loan associations throughout the State. Membership in the Cor-
poration is on a voluntary basis, and is available to all savings and
loan associations throughout the State that meet the qualifications
of the Maryland Savings-Share Insurance Corporation. The Corpora-
tion is funded by the member savings and loan associations.
The Corporation consists of eleven directors, eight of whom are
elected by the member associations and are representatives of the
member savings and loan associations. All terms after the initial selec-
