The Maryland Sports Complex Authority was created by Chapter
178, Acts of 1972, to provide for a professional sports complex in the
greater Baltimore region. Its purpose is to provide for a complex
and related facilities for professional sports teams, athletic contests,
and other athletic contests.
The Authority consists of five members. One of the members must
be the Secretary of Economic and Community Development, another
must be the Commissioner of the Department of Housing and Com-
