The Employment Security Administration originally established by
Chapter 314, Acts of 1937, administers the Maryland Unemployment
Insurance Law. It is headed by an Executive Director appointed by
the Secretary of Employment and Social Services and serves at his
pleasure. The Administration adopted its present name by Chapter 96,
Acts of 1970 (Code 1967, 1969 Repl. Vol., 1972 Supp., Art. 95A, sec. II,
12, 12A; 1971 Repl. Vol., 1972 Supp., Art. 41, sec. 205F).
