The Board of Review of the Department of Natural Resources was created by Chapter 154, Acts of 1969. The Board consists of seven members who are appointed by the Governor with the advice of the Secretary of Natural Resources and the advice and consent of the Senate for three-year terms. Of the seven members, four must repre- sent the general public. The remaining members must be persons of knowledge and experience in one or more of the fields under the juris- diction of the Department of Natural Resources. The Governor desig- nates the Chairman. The Board of Review hears and determines appeals from those de- cisions of the Secretary of Natural Resources or from any departments or other agencies within the Department of Natural Resources. The Board is responsible for the adoption of procedures for hearings and is the final body of the Department to hear and act on appeals (Na- tural Resources Article, Sec. 1-106 to 1-107). Zimmer, Jr. By Chapter 154, Acts of 1969, the Secretary of Natural Resources was authorized to create an advisory board for the Department of Na- tural Resources. The Secretary determines the size of the boa~d. Mem- bers serve indefinite terms and represent the different professional areas or fields of endeavor with which the Department of Natural Re- sources is concerned (Natural Resources Article, sees. 1-105). DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES ADVISORY COMMISSIONS Chapter 348, Acts of 1972 authorizes the appointment of a number of Advisory Commissions to agencies of the Department of Natural Resources. Each Commission consists of five members all of whom are appointed by the Governor with the advice of the Secretary of Natural Resources. Members serve at the pleasure of the Governor and must be knowledgeable in the area of interest of the advisory commission to which they are appointed. Each Advisory Commission may select its own officers and has the duty to advise the Secretary or the administra- tor of the appropriate member agency of the Department pursuant to regulations adopted by the Secretary (Natural Resources Article, see. 1-102). |
