VOTER REGISTRATION FIGURES As of October 5, 1970
ELECTORAL VOTE Maryland has ten electoral votes, which were cast for Hubert H. Humphrey and Edmund S. Muskie, at the meeting of the electors held in Annapolis, December 16, 1968. PRIMARY ELECTIONS By Chapter 560, Acts of 1969, the date of holding the primary elections by the political parties was changed to the second Tuesday after the first Monday in September for candidates for State offices and the State Central Committees. For elections by each political party in which national conventions are to be held for the nomination of President and Vice President, elections are to be held the third Tuesday in May (Code 1957, 1971 Repl. Vol., Art. 33, sec. 5-2). QUALIFICATIONS FOR VOTING IN MARYLAND In order to vote in Maryland, a person must be a citizen of the United States and at least eighteen years of age. He must have been |
