Cunningham, 1975 17th Floor, One Charles Center, Baltimore 21201 Telephone: 727-1164 The General Assembly, by Chapter 264, Acts of 18&6, established the Commission for the Promotion of Uniformity of Legislation. The Gov- ernor, every four years, appoints three Commissioners, who represent Maryland in the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. They receive no salary but are allowed their actual dis- bursements for expenses (Code 1957, 1971 Repl. Vol., Art. 41, sees. 163, 154). The Commissioners meet on call of the chairman to deter- mine what acts to sponsor before the Legislative Council of Maryland. The National Conference drafts laws to be submitted to the legislatures of the several states and recommends measures for the promo- tion of uniform legislation.
