The Employment Security Administration originally established by
Chapter 314, Acts of 1937, administers the Maryland Unemployment
Insurance Law. It is headed by an Executive Director appointed by
the Secretary of Employment and Social Services and serves at her
pleasure. The Administration adopted its present name by Chapter 96,
Acts of 1970 (Code 1957, 1968 Repl. Vol., Art. 95A, sec. II; 1971 Repl.
Vol., Art. 41, sec. 205F).
Board of Appeals
A three-man Board of Appeals, appointed by the Secretary of Em-
ployment and Social Services for six-year terms, hears appeals on
