one represents Western Maryland. The regional members must be licensed well drillers and be actively engaged in the well drilling business in the State at the time of their appointment. Of the remain- ing three members, one must represent the public at large and be Chairman of the Board. One member represents the Department of Water Resources, and one the Environmental Health Services of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The Board administers and enforces all provisions of the Well Drillers Law. The Board is expressly vested with the power and authority to make and enforce such rules and regulations in order to carry out the provisions of the Act. The Board examines and licenses by written examination and field test, qualified applicants to engage in the business of well drilling in the State. The Board administers the statutory requirements of insurance and bonding, issues, suspends and revokes licenses, holds hearings in cases of violation of provisions of the law or any of the Board's rules and regulations, and in general, regulates the business of well drilling in the State (Code 1957, 1964 Repl. State Office Building, Annapolis 21401 Telephone: 267-5761 The Maryland State Board of Examiners of Landscape Architects was established by Chapter 645, Acts of 1971. The Board consists of three members appointed by the Governor upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Natural Resources with the advice and consent of the Senate for three year terms. The Board chooses its own officers. Members must be registered landscape architects of recognized stand- ing and must have engaged in the practice of landscape architecture in Maryland for at least five years prior to their appointment. The Board licenses landscape architects who desire to practice in Mary- land. It holds examinations at least once a year and determines who may be exempt from the provisions of the law. It may hold other meetings and hearings as may be required (Code 1967, 1968 Repl. Vol., 1971 Supp., Art. 56, sees. 271-281). Appropriations 1971 1972 General Funds . $15,000 Staff: None.
