714 MARYLAND MANUAL PROPOSED STATEWIDE REFERENDUM The following Act of 1969 was successfully petitioned to referendum at the General Election to be held in November 1970. CHAPTER 553 (Senate Bill 254) AN ACT to add new Article 44C to the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), to follow imme- diately after Article 44B thereof and to be under the new title "Maryland Housing and Community Development Authority," to establish the Maryland Housing and Com- munity Development Authority for the purpose of encour- aging and facilitating development of low and moderate income housing in the State; to provide for the members of the Authority, their appointment and terms; to pro- vide for an executive director and his compensation; to provide for a business advisory council for housing and for local community advisory committees; to provide for the powers and duties of the Authority; to provide for the sale or lease of real or personal property by the Authority; to provide for cooperation with municipalities in the State; to provide for development funds; to pro- vide for the issuance of revenue bonds by the Authority; to provide for an appropriation in the Budget to estab- lish the development fund and provide initial expenses in establishing the Authority; and to provide generally for the operations of the Maryland Housing and Community Development Authority. SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That new Article 44C be and it is hereby added to the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), to follow immediately after Article 44B thereof, and to be under the new title "Maryland Housing and Com- munity Development Authority," and to read as follows: Maryland Housing and Community Development Authority 1. Title This Act shall be known as the "Maryland Housing and Community Development Authority Act." |
