538 MARYLAND MANUAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR VOTING IN MARYLAND In order to vote in Maryland, a person must be a citizen of the United States and at least twenty-one years of age. He must have been a resident of the State for one year preceding the general election, and a resident of the county or legislative district of Baltimore City for six months preceding the general election. He must not have been convicted of larceny or infamous crime, unless pardoned by the governor, nor the subject of guardianship proceedings; nor a lunatic, nor a person who is non compos mentis, nor convicted of buying or selling votes. He must also have been registered with the Board of Election Supervisors in the county or the legislative district in which he resides. |
