Herbert Shaffer, 1973 Savage River Dam, Westernport 21562 Telephone: Westernport 3201 The Upper Potomac River Commission, established in 1935, consist of three members appointed for six-year terms. The Governor appoint the Chairman, the Commissioners of Allegany County appoint second member, and the Commissioners of Garrett County appoint third. The Commission has jurisdiction over the water resources ( Allegany County and of Election District Number 4 (Bloomington) i Garrett County. In July, 1953, the Commission took charge of the Savage River Dam, erected by the Army Corps of Engineers (Acts 1985, chap. 409, Acts 1930, chap. 143, Acts 1947, chap. 105). Kenkel, General Counsel 4017 Hamilton Street, Hyattsville 20781 Telephone: 277-770 The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is the governing body of the Washington Suburban Sanitary District, created by Chap- ter 122, Acts of 1918, consists of six members, three of whom are from Prince George's County and three from Montgomery County. B Chapter 839, Acts of 1965, and Chapter 713, Acts of 1967, the Prince George's County members are appointed by the Prince George' County Commissioners, and the Montgomery County members are appointed by the Montgomery County Council. When the Commission was organized, the District's service are: covered 94 square miles. In succeeding years, the General Assembly has made additions, and the Washington Suburban Sanitary District now contains about 1,000 square miles within Prince George's and Montgomery counties, adjacent to the District of Columbia. The Corn mission has jurisdiction over the construction of any water and sew erage systems built in either county beyond the limits of the Sanitary: |
