Preston Street, Baltimore 21201 Telephone: 383-3010 The Advisory Board on Hospital Licensing, originally established in 1946, consists of nine members appointed by the Governor for five- year terms (Chapter 866, Acts of 1966). The Board assists in the issuance or denial of licenses, the establishment of minimum regula- tions, and the approval of applications for hospital construction (Code 1957, 1965 Repi, Vol., Art. 43, sec. 564). The Council consists of twenty-four persons appointed by the Governor for three-year terms. The Commissioner of Health of Bal- timore City and the Commissioner of Mental Hygiene also serve as members of the Council (Code 1957, 1965 Repi. Vol., Art. 43, sec. 564).
