of the Council of the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty. Three members
must be appointed by the Board of Medical Examiners, and two must
be appointed by the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene from
lists submitted by the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of the State
of Maryland (Code 1957, 1965 Repl. Vol., 1969 Supp., Art. 43, sec. 145).
The Commission refers any cases coming to its attention to the
appropriate local county society or committee of the Medical and
Chirurgical Faculty of the State of Maryland for investigation and
report. The report must be acted upon within ninety days unless, there
is a time extension granted by the Commission. The report must
contain such recommendations as the investigation reveals might be
necessary for adequate disciplinary procedures. The recommendations
will then be considered by the Commission.

The State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, established by
Chapter 273, Acts of 1894, is composed of five members appointed by
the Governor upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Health
and Mental Hygiene for five-year terms. Each member must be a
licensed veterinarian engaged in active practice. The Board passes
upon the qualifications of candidates for licenses to practice veterinary
medicine in the State and examines such persons. It may conduct
hearings and pass upon complaints of illegal or unethical practices
and may institute proceedings in the courts against those engaged ill
illegal practice (Code 1957, 1965 Repl. Vol., 1969 Supp., Art. 43,
sees. 150-57).

The Anatomy Board of Maryland, an ex oificio body, created by
Chapter 609, Acts of 1947, is composed of the head of the Anatomy
Department and one additional member of the anatomy staff from the
University of Maryland School of Medicine and from The Johns Hop-
kins University School of Medicine. The members of the Board are
designated by the administrative officers of each school. The purpose
of the agency is to insure the proper distribution of bodies to qualified
hospitals, medical schools and other agencies engaged in medical
education and research. Such bodies are used only for medical edu-
cation and research. If, however, the body is claimed for burial by
