p. 268 Under Upper Potomac River commission read Vacancy instead
of E. Herbert Shaffer. The commission's telephone number is
359-3201.
p. 275 Read constitutional convention of Maryland, 1967-1968.
p. 314 Add the following sentence under House of Delegates member-
ship:
In Anne Arundel county, Baltimore county, Montgomery
county, and Prince George's county, and in Baltimore City,
the members of the House of Delegates are elected from the
same subdistricts as members of the Senate. In all other counties,
members of the House of Delegates are elected at
large.
p. 314 and p. 333 At press time, John A. Whitney, member of the
House of Delegates from the First District of Montgomery
county, anticipated submitting his resignation. To replace him,
the Montgomery county Republican State Central committee
submitted the name of Harry W. Lerch. Delegate Whitney,
however, set no date for his resignation to become effective.
consequently, no date for the appointment of Delegate-desig-
nate Lerch can be set. Nevertheless, his biography is being
included, and the reader is advised that as of December 19,
1969, his appointment was not as yet official.

county public schools; Wesleyan University, B.A., 1959; George
Washington University Law School, J.D., 1963. Admitted to

districting commission, 1969. Delegate, Republican State convention,
1966. Member, American, Maryland, and Montgomery
county Bar Associations; American Judicature Society. Vice
president, Bethesda Junior Chamber of commerce, 1963. State
Safety Chairman (1963) and Governmental Affairs Chairman
(1964), Maryland Junior Chamber of commerce. Chairman,
Park and Recreation committee, National Institute of Munic-
ipal Law Officers, 1967-69. Member, Psi Upsilon fraternity.
Married.
