The Authority endeavors to promote and increase commerce within its territorial jurisdiction through public relations programs, publica- tion of literature, purchase of advertising, solicitation of business by correspondence and traveling representatives, and participation in, and cooperation with, civic, technical, professional, and business organ- izations and association. Hopkins Maryland Port Authority, Pier 2, Pratt Street, Baltimore 21202 The Governor appointed this Council in 1963 at the request of the Secretary of Commerce as a part of the program carried out by the Federal government to aid American business to increase their over- seas sales or to consider the desirability of entering foreign markets in an effort to expand U. S. exports and to aid in the balance of pay- ments problems. The Council is composed of business representatives and officials of the Economic Development Commissions of the State, Baltimore City and Baltimore County. The Council will advise busi- ness and industry in Maryland of the many benefits to be derived from an increased export program.
