862 ADDENDA AND ERRATA

The Board of Public Works at its meeting on October 8,
1965, authorized the Governor to appoint this special commis-
sion to review the plans of the Army Corps of Engineers to
dredge the Cliei.aijea.ke and Delaware Canal and the upper
regions of the Chesapeake Bay involving the disposal area for
the dredged materials. The Commission is composed of repre-
sentatives of the Maryland Port Authority, the Board of
Public Works, the Department of Chesapeake Bay Affairs and
the Chesapeake Bay Institute. The Commission will meet and
report from time to time.

The Washington Suburban Transit Commission, created
by Chapter 870, Acts of 1965, consists of six members. Three
are appointed by the Montgomery County Council and three
by the Prince George's County Board of County Commissioners.
Members serve for terms which coincide with the appointive
bodies.

The Commission was established to manage and control
the functions and activities of the Washington Suburban
Transit District with powers to develop on a bi-county basis
a transportation system including mass transit adequate for
the needs of both counties. The Commiaaion ia at present time
reviewing proper facilities for its permanent headquarters and
organization.

The Commission will, at some future date, appoint the
two members of the Board of Directors of the Washington
Metropolitan Transit Authority created by Chapter 869, Acts
of 1965 (Code 1957, 1965 Supp., Art. 41, sees. 317-1 to 317-86).
