Preston Street, Baltimore 21201 Telephone: 837-9000 The Governor appointed this seven member inter-agency commis- sion on Mental Retardation in 1963 to coordinate the activities of the various State agencies cooperating in this area. The Commission will select its own officers and report from time to time. COMMITTEE TO CONCILIATE RACIAL DIFFERENCES IN CAMBRIDGE Chairman: Clarence W. Miles H. Vernon Eney, Thomas B. Finan, Noble C. Powell, Mrs. John L. Whitehurst, Robert B. Watts. Centreville 21617 The Governor appointed this special five-man. committee in 1964 to conciliate the racial differences which existed in Cambridge at that time and to attempt to restore communications between the white and negro communities in that city. The Committee also assisted State and Federal authorities in recommending the adoption of programs which were designed to expand job opportunities in the area. The Committee submitted it's report to flip Governor on October 20, 1964. COMMITTEE TO COORDINATE FISH MORTALITY STUDIES Acting Chairman: Vagn Flyger David V. Auld, Robert M. Brown, Carl J. Frank Raley, Jr. Natural Resources Institute University of Maryland, College Park 20740 The Governor appointed this special Committee in 1963 to coordi- nate studies of the fish mortality which has occurred in the Potomac River and other Maryland tidal waters. The Committee is to work with a similar Committee appointed by the Governor of Virginia and to report from time to time. COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE THE CORRECTIONAL CAMP SYSTEM Chairman: Thomas B.
