At the request of the General Assembly, the Governor appointed
this Committee in 1961 to meet with representatives of the Depart-
ment of Forests and Parks assigned to the Master Plan Project in
order to assist in the Development of the Master Plan. The Com-
mittee had its membership enlarged in 1962 to become a permanent
committee. It is composed of the Directors of the Department of
Forests and Parks, the State Planning Department, and the Depart-
ment of Budget and Procurement, together with members of the Leg-
islative Council Subcommittee on Parks originally appointed in 1960.
The Committee submitted a partial Master Plan in January 1962, and
will report to the General Assembly from time to time (J. R. No. 38,
Acts of 1961).
