INCORPORATED TOWNS
The title of the executive officer, is Mayor, excepting in those towns
marked with an asterisk (*), where the title's President of the Town Com-
mission, and in such other towns as noted in the list below. The term of
the Mayor and the date of election is a part of each town's charter, there
being no uniformity regarding this in Maryland. However, the voluntary
model for municipal government, contained in the Municipal Corporation's
Charter Act of 1955, provides that the Mayor shall be elected in May of
every second odd number year. The list below was compiled from informa-
tion furnished by the Maryland Municipal League.
