Should any of the dates listed above fall on a Sunday, the holiday is
observed on the following Monday.

All days of General and Congressional Elections.
All special days that may be appointed or recommended by the Governor
of Maryland or the President of the United States (Code 1951, Art. 13,
secs. 9, 11).
3. Saturdays
It is lawful for any banking institution to remain closed on any one or
more or all Saturdays if this closing is authorized by resolution of its board
of directors. Any Saturday on which such bank may remain closed shall
constitute a legal holiday. This provision does not apply in Queen Anne's
County (Code 1951, 1957 supp., Art. 13, sec. 10).
It is lawful for banks in Maryland to close their doors at twelve o'clock
noon on every Saturday of the year. After twelve o'clock noon, Saturday
is a legal holiday. This does not apply in Howard and Talbot counties
(Code 1951, 1957 supp., Art. 13, sec. 12).

The General Assembly has authorized the Governor to proclaim special
"Days" as follows:

Constitution Day (Res. No. 8, 1951)...............................September 17
General Pulaski Memorial Day (Res. No. 5, 1931)................October 11

Republic of Czechoslovakia Day (Res. No. 3, 1935)..................October 28
Frederick County Only
Repudiation Day: Alter twelve o'clock noon, November 23 is a legal
bank half-holiday (Ch. 510, Acts 1894).
